Service is not optional — it is central to the Christian faith. Jesus declared, "The Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister" (Mark 10:45).

Jesus Modeled Service

In John 13, Jesus washed His disciples' feet — a task for the lowest servants. Then He said, "I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you" (John 13:15). This redefined greatness.

Every Believer Is Gifted for Service

1 Peter 4:10 says each one should use whatever gift they have received to minister to one another as good stewards. God has equipped every Christian to serve.

Service Expresses Love

Galatians 5:13 instructs us to serve one another by love. The motivation is not guilt or the desire to be noticed — it is love.

Service Is for the Lord

Colossians 3:23-24 says whatever we do, do it heartily as to the Lord. Jesus said, "Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me" (Matthew 25:40).
